Re: [IP] novolog - like humalog

There's an article in "Diabetes Interview", July 2001. It is Lantus, by
Aventis, of Bridgewater, NJ. Physicians are calling it "Advancement in Basal
Insulin Coverage". Dr. John Buse, director of the University of No.
Carolina's Diabetes Center, conducted a trial on patients that were not doing
well on NPH or Ultralente. Their control was improved by the use of Lantus,
and multiple injections were reduced to one injection a day. However, this
does not mean that patients take only one shot a day, and it is not meant to
replace short acting insulins such as Regular or Humalog, which provide
Bolus. The FDA approved it on May 22, 2001.
