Re: [IP] procedure for getting stem cells?

I know to get stem cells for Lupus a person has to go through getting rid of
their old immune system and that is quite something to go through. The immne
system is wiped out by chemo or radiation. Then the stem cells are given and
it takes quite a few days (a month or so) for a new immune system to begin
to be made. Then also anti-rejection meds are given for awhile.
Is this the same way for diabetes?
It is being found with Lupus that the same triggers can start lupus all over
again. The person is advised to not get re-vaccinated as that is a trigger.
Certain medications have to be avoided.
How can diabetes be prevented a second time around especially if some cases
come about as a result of a virus?
If getting the stem cells are done the same way it is pretty risky.
