RE: [IP] unopened insulin storage

Here's a similar question -- do you have to throw away insulin that has
been unopened and refrigerated but has passed it's expiration date?  I
found a bottle of Humalog the other week that expired a couple of months
ago so threw it away (that was painful).  Could I have kept it??

I do not think the last sentence is a valid statement. I have been a
type 1 diabetic for 17 years and have never thrown away a bottle of
insulin (R, NPH, or HUMULOG) because I have stored it, unopened and not
regrigerated, for more that 30 days. <snip>
