[IP] Infection and insulin requirement

Infection always increases insulin resistance and it does not respond to
type 2 medication which interferes with the resistance caused by fat. In
some cases, Metformin may be useful in overcoming the dawn phenomena but I
have no experience with this. Ketosis also increases insulin resistance and
makes peripheral insulin utilization less efficient. I do not think that all
of he chemistry is completely understood at this point. acidosis, shift of
the chemistry of the blood towards acidic side makes oxidative metabolism
(metabolism of glucose by oxygen) less efficient.
