Re: [IP] NLD

I have NLD (necrobiosis lipoidicum diabeticorum) on both my shins. I
completely understand about being sick of the questions! I once had some
lady refuse to sit near me at a job orientation because she thought I had
AIDS. I have seen a wound care specialist about it because a few times it
has opened up and become an ulcer. He has recommended me to a plastic
surgeon for staged excision. It's a series of cutting strips of the bad
tissue away and smooshing the skin together until it's all gone. Most
people say this or a skin graft is all you can do, though good bg control
helps of course. Whatever you do, don't leave it to a dermatologist
because they hardly ever see it and don't know what to do. Have a
consultation visit with a wound care center, plastic surgeon, or vascular
surgeon. Let me know hoe it goes.

a diabetic derma somethin lesion on my shin. Any of you been successful in
having them go away? Mine started at about 1/2 cm^2, and is now 1"X 1.25"
(sorry the ruler at my desk is metric-free.) My new endo seemed shocked
that my old dermatologist said nothing could be done and stuck me with
topical steroid creams.

also.) I am so sick of it and people asking me how I hurt myself... that
and the pager questions/comments.
