I keep records daily.  I write down bgs and meals.  This helps me to look at 
what happened last time I ate a certain meal, what my bg and what my bolus 
was (and more importantly what that bolus did to my bg!).  I find this very 
helpful.  I also write down if I was more active than usual, was feeling ill, 
needed a temp basal, etc., for comparisons.
