gwen,  when I started eating cereal again on the pump I always turned up that 
my  BS's went up so I changed my carb ratio only at breakfast and that seamed 
to work,  I usually take 13/1 ratio but at breakfast I go down to 11/1 ratio. 
It helps me to keep my numbers down in the morning when I'm not as active
