Hi Kathie -

I was also very nervous about going on the pump!  I got mine on January 12th
this year.  You have to use the
exchange system when you're eating food you don't know (in my opinion).
When I go out to dinner
- every Friday night, when I volunteer at the aquarium - I have to use
exchanges, because there
are no carb ratings on food then.  Since going on the pump, I usually feel
better if I can see the carbohydrate
reading on the food label, even tho' it may be misleading.  I find the
exchange system never fails!  Try it.
It's more consistent!  Good luck, and write if you have problems!     Jane
