RE: [IP] Apidra Jelly

Hi

I wrote in this conference at the beginning of the year that I am trying
Apidra out and was very interested in what has been said about Apidra
'jellifying'. I have had some excellent bgs while using it with hardly a
postprandial rise and have also had times when I just cannot get the bg to
come down even pumping a lot of extra bolus. I thought this was mainly due
to the fact that I am still setting up basals and ratios for boluses.
However I could not see a clear pattern why something was happening some of
the time. Today has been a bad day and I had decided to do a change before
I read these messages. There was a small amount left in the cartridge which
I put on the back of my hand and it felt thicker than I expected. I think I
may be leaving too long a time between set changes. How long do you do with
Apidra.

I never did see my first of second message about my Apidra use appear in
this forum and therefore did not get any replies but am not sure if the site
was down for a few days or if my computer was misbehaving. I'm glad it
seems to be back to normal now (or is if I see my message appear).

Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.

June

I have used Apidra from the day it was released publicly and never had a
problem....call the manufacturer....tell them the problem and see what they
say. Mark Willoughby
