Re: [IP] OmniPod no easy bolus

If you want or need a bolus it is done with the PDM, it may take you a minute
or two to program the PDM. It's much easier than you may think.
The PDM would be uncomfortable inside a pants pocket. The PDM does not need to
be in immediate proximity of the Pod to administer the basel rate, I left mine @
the office (21 miles away) and it continued to administer the basel rate for
over 12 hours. Of course during that 12 hour period, I couldn't bolus thru the
Pod, & I administered needed bolus w/syringe.
The PDM sits in my pocketbook @ work, and not required to tag along w/me every
minute. The only time I need it close to Pod (within 2 feet) is to bolus, change
basel rate, or check BG.
More people would use the OmniPod if the cost became more reasonable.

Subject: [IP] OmniPod no easy bolus

I called the makers of the OmniPod and wanted to know a few things. The
representatives didn't know much. They transferred me to a sales rep I
received the sales representatives voicemail and I left my name phone number
and never received a phone call back. Anyway I was told by the representative
when I first call that there is no easy bolus or quick bolus. I don't know if
I like this idea that means I would have to look at the PDM every time I
wanted to bolus. I was also wondering does the OmniPod have a suspended
feature on the PDM to stop insulin delivery when needed or wanted to do so.
Also the PDM doesn't seem to me that it would be comfortable inside a pair of
pants pocket it seems to big.
