RE: [IP] Extra resorviors filled up...question..good or bad
Companies like http://www.logimedix.com/pre-filled.htm still sell prefilled
cartridges and insurance companies cover them.
The only warning I have ever heard about cartridge lubrication was to not
reuse the cartridges because the lubrication wears down over time.
I have prefilled Cozmo cartridges for quite some time and have never had a
problem that could be tracked to the prefilled cartridge.
I pull a bottle of insulin from the fridge - let it warm up and fill 3
cartridges. Typically there is a little left after the 3rd - 3 cartridges
will last me between 16 and 20 days. Since the bottle you are using can be
left at room temp for 28 days I don't worry about leaving the cartridges In
my desk drawer. Filling with room temp insulin, filling when I am not
rushed, and using room temp cartridges makes it much less likely to have
bubbles. I'm more concerned about and have seen more problems with bubbles
appearing in cartridges as they change temp than I am worried about
lubrication issues. But that's just my experience

The bottom line -- best NOT to prefill. Remember, I learned it the hard
way.
