RE: [IP] Why Hole in Tegaderm?

The IV 3000 is easier to poke through with the canula and will not dammage
the canula but I've been noted by my pump tech that it will damage the
plastic tubing around the metal needle with the tegaderm. That's is why I
make a hole in it....At 30.00/canula witch is not paid by insurance is a lot
of money for me...So, I take this way not to break it.

Hello Gilles,

Why bother making a hole? Why don't you simply insert the canula through
Tegaderm, or IV3000, without punching a hole first? That is what I've
done and I see no reason to change. Comments from anyone, regarding which
approact they take, would be appreciated.
