When Lily's pump was on the fritz, she covered basal with injections of 
REGULAR insulin every 4 - 5 hours using the amount of insulin that 
would have been delivered by the pump (for basal) during that time 
interval. She used fast acting insulin for her food and corrections. 
All were shot into the port on her set (carefully).
