My former doc had a patient who had a grand mal brain seizure from a severe
low (like I do), and recovered fine, except she was profoundly deaf from
then on.  As I understand it, glucose is as necessary to your brain as
oxygen:  when it's deprived, there may be long term or permanent brain
damage.  BLAH!!!
