When my daughter was little and having stomach bugs, her pedio recommended 
coke syrup. Start with sips of a tablespoon over cracked ice. Eventually, the 
bug moves on, but the point is to avoid dehydration. The dehydration is 
dangerous to anyone, including non-diabetics.
