[IP] Answer to 'what is a palm pilot'

Small hand-held computing devices are known generically as PDA's (Personnel
Digital Assistants). These break down into two major categories according to
the basic software they run (Similar to Macintosh / PC-Windows). Those
running the Palm Operating System (Palm OS) are called Palm Pilots afer the
first ones even though they could now be made by many vendors. The other
major PDA's run a Windows derived operating system. Either can be
syncronized to Windows or MAC computers through the proper cables and
software. Each "Palm" has different features as to memory, software,
display, modem, etc. - Bob N
