OK, I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV, but what I do for myself
when I have itchy allergic reactions is to put hydrocortisone ointment
on and around the itchy area, BUT if there is a wound in the middle of
it, make sure not to get any in or on the wound. 

Before I figured out which infusion set to use, I had several really bad
itchy reactions to various tapes, and the ointment really helped.
