I also had low BGs when very hungry for about 15 years prior to becoming a 
Type 1 at age 37. My sister has been Type 1 since age 9... so there is 
definitely a genetic link there. I don't know what can be done as far as 
long term outlook, but it sure wouldn't hurt to see an endo.
