[IP] private insurance

Private insurance is a product of the devil... okay, so that is a little
harsh.

I was on private insurance from age 16 to 22... (dad self-employed, two
diabetics kids).
We paid an arm and a leg for minimum HMO coverage - basically
hospitilization and basic
primary care/specialists... ($15 per visit co-pay)

The "clincher" was NO COVERAGE OF ANY PRESCRIPTION MEDS OR DIABETIC
SUPPLIES.

The main question is this:
1. How much happier would I (or my husband) be with choice A, working for
myself?
versus
2. How much less/more money will I make? Will I make enough to cover the
difference? Am I willing to sacrifice in X area(s) of my life to cover that
difference?

Personally, my father took 'choice A' - but it will vary person to person.
In my current financial situation, I could never afford to live outside that
corporate umbrella...

Susan
