[IP] check-ups

but what about the kids? geneva has had IDDM for almost 4 years. should I
be pressing Kaiser HMO for all of the below?

> FYI: The Diabetes Center of America has a chart that reviews tests and
exams that should be done and how often. In a nutshell: HgbA1C: 4 times a
year; Foot inspection by doctor or nurse: each visit; Blood Pressure: each
visit; Dilated Eye Exam: once a year; Lipid Profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL,
triglyceride): once a year; Flu Shot: one time a year; Pneumonia
shot/vaccine: initial visit; Kidney Function ( serum creatinine/ urine
microalbumin: once a year. In addition it is recommended that any diabetic
,with or without high B/P, who has protein in their urine, be treated with
an ACE Inhibitor to protect their kidneys.
