Subject: [IP] happy day!!!!!

Ellen, usually people are more sensitive to insulin early in diabetes, since they haven't had time to build up a lot of antibodies to insulin yet.  Insulin sensitivity has a lot to do with how lean you are, how much you exercise, as well as insulin antibodies.  Growth hormone deficiencies are mostly a problem for kids, but if you're a normal sized adult, it's probably a safe bet that's not a problem.  There's an expression in medicine, "when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras", and it sound like your endo is looking for zebras to see if he can explain your sensitivity.  In the meantime, good luck with the pump.  Basically, it doesn't matter if you have any of these other problems, it still comes down to you've got to control your sugar with whatever means works best for you.
