[IP] Diabetes Rally for a Cure

FYI to any who may be interested.

The American Diabetes Association is pleased to announce the
availability of scholarships to
attend the Rally for a Cure in Washington on March 7-9, 1999.

Scholarships pay for round-trip airline ticket and a two-night hotel
stay at the Crystal
Gateway Marriott. They are available thanks to generous grants from
Parke-Davis, Eli Lilly and
Company and Boehringer Mannheim Corporation.

To receive a scholarship, your Representative in Congress must be a
member of the House
Appropriations Committee. This is the committee that decides how much
the government spends on
diabetes research each year.

A list of the committee members is included at the end of this message.
It is also available
at www.diabetes.org/advocate/Nov98/application.asp

To apply for a scholarship, please call (800) 676-4065, x2807 and tell
us (1) your name,
address and phone number, (2) the name of your Congressman/woman and (3)
why you deserve a
scholarship (in 30 seconds or less).

If selected, you must make your travel plans through ADA by February 1,
1999. Thank you for
your continued support of diabetes advocacy and the American Diabetes
