RE: [IP] c-peptide test criteria

A Type 2 does not transition to a Type 1. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease;
Type 2 is insulin resistance/relative insufficiency. After awhile, a Type
2's insulin production can become minimal, but it isn't because of
autoimmunity.

John,

I too am an insulin dependent type II. From all that I have read though
there
is nothing preventing a Type II transitioning to a Type I. This is where
Type
1.5 comes in which is routinely misdiagnosed as Type II.
