 I share your surprise. When I was on MDI, I usually faced the choice of trying
to give myself 1/2 U
 or just putting up with being 40 mg/dl higher than I wanted to be. With the
pump, measuring out 0.5U
is no big deal.

 But I did, in fact, walk around with syringes and a bottle of insulin. In fact,
I still do! I've
just added a spare infusion set and reservoir to my kit.
