I don't know the specifics of the testing used, but the Doc at 
Stanford said the new method yielded better results. the test pattern 
used was:

2 different days
A morning urine sample upon rising and a 3:00 pm urine sample.
The lab results for all 4 samples apparently yield info about kidney 
function that is superior to a 24 hour collection. 

Lily's 24 hour collection by her (now gone) endo showed a slightly 
elevated reading ~72 (normal upper limit 30).

the 4x method showed 3 normal and one >80 reading. Her kidney doc 
considers that abnormal but not urgent. Sometime in the next few 
months Lily will probably go on Ace inhibitors after some more tests 
are conducted.
