Yes there is recourse. Same as with any denial. Unless there is 
SPECIFIC language to the contrary in the policy, they must supply 
what the doctor orders. If necessary, get your doc to write a letter 
of medical necessity pointing out Kayla's difficulty with alternative 
insulins and point out that Novolog is the ONLY fast acting insulin 
that is approved for use in pumps. In spite of what they may have 
already said on the phone, faced with a written letter of medical 
necessity and a reminder of what state law says (check it out if 
applicable). You may do better. Start the appeal process, chances are 
you will win.
