I think it depends less on type than on your doc's letter of medical
necessity. Some ins. companies seem to have stricter standards than
others, so your doc needs to paint a worst-case scenario.  

The current thinking seems to be getting away from the pump as a Type 1
thing. It can help ANYONE on insulin.
