regarding the issue of having a doc that says no to pumping... in some
areas of the country, family docs are not informed enough to feel
comfortable about starting up a pump, so you are sent to the only endo
within a day's drive... if that endo says no to the pump because of
outdated views, thinking they are convenience toys etc, you have few
choices... many of these endos that are the only show in town are not
interested in listening to the reasons that a person might have for wanting
to pump... after all, they have the market cornered... all you can do is
keep hammering at them till they give in or find a family doc that is
willing to learn with you...

many people do not have specialists nearby or large medical facilities to
rely on that have clinics specifically devoted to diabetes... you're stuck
with what is availible in your area...
