Presumably this is when it's given in massive overdose, as it usually
is. Glucagon is otherwise naturally produced in non-diabetics (and many
diabetics) with no side-effects.

I did hear somewhere (here?) that Minimed were developing a dual action
pump that pumps both glucagon and insulin as required. I assume this is
part of their long-term plan for an implantable pump combined with
continuous glucose monitor.
