Re: [IP] Total Nutrient Counting

TAG - Total Available Glucose - 100% CHO, 50% PRO, 25% FAT

My endo advocates this method and so I have been using it for about 8 years
or so. It is especially useful when eating meals with a lot of protein
and/or a lot of fat. EX: pizza. For more normal meals, it sometimes makes
me too low too fast if I take it all at once right after the meal. It seems
to work better for me if I take an extended bolus over 1-1/2 or 2 hours,
which makes sense because protein and fat slow down the absorption of food.
TAG really does have a good effect on A1c's. It takes a little practice,
but is worth the effort I think.
