[IP] islet cell/women no longer a diabetic

Hi, i read in womens world magazine, about a women who had been diabetic for
37 years. who was worried about heart problems, blindness etc, the scary
complications that is on the back of all of our mines. she read about a
research place doing this surgery, she flew to fl and 5 months later she had
a donor and had the surgery and is no longer a diabetic. she has to take
anti-rejection drug and the down side of it is a suppressed immune system,
and they do not know long term effects etc..i am sure i have missed some
things in this story, but it sounds so wonderful. can anyone volenteer for
this, i guess its like being a guinea pig. just curious. thanks eileen
