YES!! a cold or any kind of infection in your body can cause you to have 
skyrocketing BS's.  I had gotten the flu (before flu shots) and ended up in a 
coma for 3 days! Definately get a hold of your Dr. and they will help you learn 
how to handle BS's for sick days.
