I use the Minimed sofsets, and I CAREFULLY insert the infusion set's
insertion needle into the TOP of my pump's syringe needle (this way both of
the sharp points are inside the plastic cap from the syringe needle). I
called my county health department to make sure this was legal and they said
that as long as I wasn't a "commercial" user, it is perfectly legal and may
be discarded with regular household garbage.
