Ik know Medisense (the maker of QID and Xtra) and Bayer (the maker of DEX)
will send the cable to you if you complain enough.  Basically all you have
to do is tell tham that there is no way that you are going to use their
meter if you can't download from it.  They make their money off of the
strips.  So call them AND email them.  I got my cables this way.
