Pam,
This has alot to do with the competetive nature of the sports, and the
release of adreneline, which stimulates glucose release from the liver, and
stress hormones.  I have the same problem when I play hockey and I bolus 2
units before I play, unless I'm under 150, then I'll wait until after.  I
also get the same responce to weight lifting.
