RE: [IP] Types of docs



My understanding is that an endocrinologist treats people with various
problems with the entire endocrine system.  Such as kidney disease,
pancreatic cancer, etc.   Since the pancreas is part of the endocrine system
they are "specialists" in our area.  Some specialize in diabetes and see
only diabetic patients.  This is the same as the doc who practices internal
medicine with a specialty in diabetes.  Others may not have very many.  So
it always helps to call and ask questions.
