Every insurance plan is different.  With that being said, companies that are
self-insured may have a pre-existing clause or may not.  There are no pre-
existing clauses in HMO's.  It depends on the company's plan.

The best thing to do is to ask the benefits rep. in the company about pre-
existing.  Some pre-existing say they will not cover any medical treatment-if
you use insurance the first 90 days of coverage-for 18 months.  Some say they
will not cover for 18 months to 2 years.  It depends.  Insurance companies are
leaning more to taking the pre-existing conditions out, but it is not gone
