Re: [IP] Most here w/ insurance?
Denise,
Amazingly, I have Anthem BC/BS and they approved everything after I sent in
needed information.
Blessings,
Monica

Subject: Re: [IP] Most here w/ insurance?
I have Minnesota high-risk pool insurance right now. I can think of 3 others on
IP who also have this. Interestingly, my 34-year old daughter is also on it
because she's overweight. (Thankfully, my son-in-law did not demand that she go
on a diet!) You can tell exactly what my premium is if you google MCHA and find
their premium table. Look at a $2,000 deductible for a 57-year-old non-smoking
individual. Pretty steep! Oh, am I glad that I quit smoking years ago! That's
even worse. However, my COBRA coverage through Blue Cross/Blue Shield probably
would not cover a Dex. I just never asked about it because when I was supposed
to have an arterial Doppler, they would only pay about 1/3 of the cost.
Assuming
that BC/BS is the insurance company that always says no to everything, I didn't
get the Doppler and didn't get the CGMS.
My daughter was covered by COBRA and then was denied coverage and she likes
MCHA
(Medica) better because they actually pay for most medical necessities without
a
huge battle.
One of the others with MCHA forewarned me that supplies from Animas involves
getting an override. I have an order pending, but it looks like they're working
on it. If it doesn't ship within a week, I'll give them a call. Of course,
requesting samples of an Inset30 might just hold up the works. I think that a
prescription is required...
