In the above example, the TOTAL carb contained in one serving (and do 
always check serving size) is 35g.  Of that 35g, 30 is in the form of 
simple sugars, which tend to have a very rapid effect on blood sugar 
levels.  Your insulin dose should be based on total carb amount.   The fat 
contained in chocolate candy slows the rise somewhat, which is why 
chocolate candy bars are not usually recommended as a treatment for lows.
