To visually check clear insulins such as Humalog or Regular you turn the
bottle upside-down. Bubbles rise but very small particles of insulin can
fall or be seen clinging to the wall of the bottle. Also, it may have a
slightly yellowish or brownish color rather than look like clear water. The
information is in the Pumping Insulin book Justin.

How do you know if a bottle of humalog insulin is bad? Just try another one?
