Oranges are for eating, not jabbing with syringes. This was
a major waste of vitamin C and good fiber.  There was a
story going around that one person complained that the
insulin wasn't helping him feel any better and it was
useless, a waste of money.  The doctor asked the person to
describe his injection technique. All was OK until the step
of injecting into the orange and the orange was eaten.

Current diabetes educators recommend direct injections. Get
the first one done and over with asap. Using an orange was
the practice when I was in nursing school eons ago. (lol)
These days, there are many realistic simulators for
practicing manual techniques.
