Re: [IP] musicians with DM/playing injuries

It sounds like you have tennis elbow!

I am an old-time fiddle player (and tennis player). I
know someone about my age (mid-40s) who does NOT have
DM - but got tennis elbow from using his construction
hammer - and that's what he's done for a living for a
long time. One shot of cortisone fixed him right up,
but not until after he was at the doctor's office more
than 6 times complaining of the pain from his elbow to
his finger tips. The MD apparently didn't agree with
my diagnosis (imagine that!) :-)

I get what feels like a sprained wrist when I play
tennis, then within 24 hours do some gut-scratching.
Trying to keep my wrist light & limber isn't always
easy since tennis requires a different wrist motion
than fiddle playing.

Could be DM - could be age - could be stiffer new
