[IP] Diabetes at school.....

Someone wrote recently about difficulties with BG
testing at school. For all of you with
children/students with diabetes, you should have a 504
Plan concerning their diabetes care at school. Here's
a link to info on the plans from the Children with
Diabetes website.

Some districts do not want to do these plans saying
that it can be taken care of without one. Be nice, but
insist on having one as it keeps everyone accountable
and helps insure your child's rights. There is also
more information about the plans on the ADA and
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation websites. If you have
difficulty with your school or want assistance in
approaching them, contact your local ADA or JDF
chapter, they will usually provide coaching or other
assistance to you.
