  You are the one who knows Kevin best and if  you are a little uncomfortable 
about it then why not go, atleast in the background, and watch him for the 
first few weeks atleast, and see if Kevin is capable of doing what needs to 
be done. That way you are allowing him the opportunity to try and be more 
independent but at the same time you are there as a safety net in case he 
shows he is not emotionally capable at this time.  It will be hard to depend 
on the coaches as they have all the kids to think about.  Another thought, is 
there one other team member that Kevin is pretty close to that you can talk 
to about reminding Kevin?  Sometimes if his friends are aware and know that 
he sometimes forgets they are there and can remind him for you???!!!!
