I used to eat out a lot, before and after the pump. What I always did was
about a half hour before the meal, I would give myself a small amount of
insulin. The amount was usually about a 1/4 of the average amount of insulin
used for that particular meal. (am I stating this clearly or rambling?) I
would then give the rest of the insulin as soon as I received the meal and
figured out how much I was going to eat, the carbs, etc.
