Subject: [IP] Re: MODYs, LADAs and c-peptides

C-peptide levels are just an indirect way of measuring natural insulin
production. So, if your pancrease is not making insulin, the c-peptide
level goes down to 0. But, all tests are not perfect, including the
c-peptide. If your pancrease can make a little bit of insulin, but not
enough to handle your foods, you may still have some measurable c-peptide.
If your insurance is paying for your pump, I wouldn't worry about
re-checking it now. Cross that bridge when you get to it. Hopefully, by
the time you get to medicare age, their asinine requirements for being a
type 1 to get pump coverage will be dropped.
