Re: [IP] Meter Comparisons



I'm a little confused by this...

I understand that the different types of meters test the blood differently,
but don't they all use the same numbers?  I mean, if I test regularly with
one kind of meter, and my BG's are 130, that's okay, but if another told me
that they were 160, I would consider that too high.

Likewise, a reading of 94 is just fine with me, but 64 is too low.  How can
you know what your BG's really are when there is such a variance in meters?

See your first paragraph and change "not" to never.  The difference
between brands of meters can be that one will measure bg value in
plasma, another measures in whole blood values, while a third
might just be reading the interstitial fluid values.  These values will
vary by the twenty points you mention.  Get one type of meter and
make all comparisons based on that type.  Do that and it won't be
a "problem".       :>)
