RE: [IP] Flying numbers for MM bolus

With my MM508, if I hold down the arrow button, the numbers scroll by pretty
fast. I usually hold down for a fraction of a second, see where I am and
then repeat. I don't know if the MM506 and 507C are different or not. I
have gotten pretty good at bolusing by getting to the whole number I need
and then counting from there. For instance, if I want to give 5.6 units, I
would scroll to 4.0 or 5.0 and then count the times I push the button. Then
I look to see if the amount is correct and activate. This way I can bolus
no matter what I am doing (like at a business lunch) without appearing to
fixate on the pump.

Subject: [IP] Flying numbers for MM bolus

Recently someone wrote that they believed the MiniMed pumps had the numbers
fly by very fast if the button was held down. I have read this before and
the comment has been made on this list before that unless someone actually
has/had the particular pump they are referring to, *views* should not be
stated. My numbers on my MiniMed 507C (or the late 506) do not fly by
quickly. If I hold the button down, it continues to scroll by 0.1 units and
can be stopped and reversed at any time. There is no speed-up by holding it
down longer. Perhaps my two MiniMed pumps are different than all the others.
