Hi there -

I haven't experienced that kind of thing, but I notice that my batteries run
out regularly at about 2months and a week.  If she/he has a regular pattern,
how about changing the batteries at maybe 2 months (or whatever works for
them) as a test.  I change batteries the second the screen shows the need -
I right now am due to change soon, and have the batteries waiting on the
kitchen counter with my glucometer.  That test would help show whether or
not the batteries are to blame.  Good luck!
