That's generally true with Original Medicare except that you don't totally
have free choice of pumps. Omnipod is not covered since it's not considered a
regular pump. It's true though that there is no formulary under Part B for
insulins used in a pump and all the tubed pump brands are covered. And it is
true that the UHC Medicare Advantage plan has there own contracts for
suppliers as does any UHC employer, retiree or individual, non-Medicare plan.

<Let's get it straight.B  If you have the original Medicare you can use
anypump you like and any insulin you prefer.B  The United Health Care
supplement pays the difference after Medicare.B  If you have an advantage
plan or an HMO plan (also offered by United Health and many others), then
you're locked in to whatever that plan has contracted with Medicae.B  My
humalog has always been covered as well as my pumps through the original
Medicare and United Health Care Plan F supplement.>
